Controller Overview

The ST-853TrunkingControllermanages a single conventional repeater
channelwithin aSmarTrunk II system. Multiple ST-853 controllers and
repeatersmaybe installed to provide up to 16 voice channels to subscribers.
Subscriber equipment consists of portable,mobile or fixed siteVHF or UHF
radios each equippedwith a SmarTrunk II logic board. Subscriber units are
capable oforiginating and receiving calls fromindividual subscribers, a group of
subscribers or telephone users. All subscriber privileges and systemparameters
are controlled bythe systemoperator.

Features Overview
The ST-853 offers a wide variety of benefits both to the users of the system and to system operators. The large system capacity allows the system to be easily expanded, supporting a single channel system with a few users up to a 16 channel system with over a thousand users.
The programming software makes the system easy to setup and modify. The serial databus allows all site data to be accessed from a single controller. In addition, the system can be used to support a wide variety of telephone interconnect applications.
